Landscapes of
light and feeling.

Before turning to painting, R. Fox studied writing at Berea College in Kentucky and spent several years working as a professional writer. A lifelong interest in art — and particularly in the ways creative work communicates feeling — eventually found expression through painting.

His work is drawn to landscapes, trees, shifting skies, and the emotional character of light. Rather than simply record a scene, he explores how color, shape, and brushwork can suggest a sense of place, a moment of stillness, or a passing mood.

Working primarily in acrylic, Fox approaches painting as an ongoing process of discovery. Each piece is an opportunity to follow curiosity, experiment with expression, and make something that might resonate with another person.
